The Phone-paid services Authority has regular consultations regarding the regulation of the industry. Sadly, they have historically made little effort to consult the consumers they are supposed to be protecting.
We regularly respond to PSA consultations, and they publish our responses. However, the verions published by the PSA are often heavily redacted. The unredacted versions can be seen here.
PSA are currently consulting on a potentially far-reaching change to their Code of Practice – the rules under which these services are required to operate. This represents an opportunity to make changes which could help get rid of he fraud and sharp practice which are currently endemic in the industry. We urge all consumers to respond.
